The truth about Fahmi Slail and Precision Systems/Money and why you shouldn't hire them.

Update 2012: Precision Systems has obviously had little success and Fahmi is suffering from successful and active suits agains him but, I can assure you, Fahmi Slail is still at his dirty tricks. After a pathetic attempt to reclaim his search engine placing, it appears that Fahmi Slail has mostly abandoned Precision Systems and is pursing a freelance translating career. I urge the reader to continue to beware. My company on the other hand (Third Street Works) continues to flourish and I am enjoying a Fahmi free life in San Francisco.

Under most circumstances, I ignore these types of things but, it has come to my attention that others are coming forward and publicly posting their experiences with and opinions about Fahmi Slail and Precision Money. This is far from a surprise to me as Mr. Slail already had a trail of disenchanted ex-employees and discontent clients already behind him when I started working for him. Now, for some reason, the ever so brilliant Fahmi Slail has concluded that every single anonymous disparaging remark toward him on The Internet is from me and has begun a remarkably pathetic smear campaign against me. As a result, I've decided to create this page to set the record straight.

In 2007, several months after I was over the furious rage caused by the fact that Fahmi more or less stole $1,200 from me, I found a web site called "Developers Beware" recounting the horrors of working with Fahmi Slail and Precision Money. It was a half-complete effort to prevent other developers from falling prey to his second-rate, petty cons. I figured the effort if nothing was noble and shared my experiences as quoted below:

I worked for Fahmi for 2 months. Within the first week he told me I was the best designer and fastest developer he'd ever met and when I quit he shorted me $1,200 on my final check citing my "stupid punk-kid clothes and hair-cut" as his reason for doing this. Three other developers quit over the next 2 days. In the duration of my unfortunate stay at Precision Systems, Fahmi stole business methods developed by my company, attempted on numerous occasions to steal my clients, made racist remarks and disparaging comments about his employees and clients and consistently lied to everyone around him. I consider Fahmi Slail an unethical businessman, a liar, and petty con-man. I wish him the worst life has to offer.

I stand by every word and some of the grammar in that statement and would like it to no-longer be anonymous.

On a web site created anonymously by someone I am in no contact with, Mr. Fahmi Slail states in a comment the following:

Ok, so it's clear that the idiot who did this post is xxxx xxxxx(name removed) who is the worst wannabe web developer that ever existed. Hi J :-) sorry I couldn't keep you employed in my company. The customers just couldn't handle all the bad coding that you wrote. I feel sorry for you that almost 7 months after you were FIRED ! you are still unemployed. I wouldn't re- hire you if my life depended on it. You are the worst employee any company can ever hire and I AM GLAD you are cruising the internet promoting your messages of hate. READER BEWARE of lumbroso.com [lumbroso.com] . He hires cheap developers from India and poses as the developer of that junk. Too bad you got caught and got fired. Adios...internet idiot!

Well, Fahmi is technically right about one thing here, I am still unemployed. I don't have a boss. I own and operate a small but successful video production, graphic design and web development company in downtown San Francisco, CA. Suggesting that I claim credit for outsourced work at all is almost as sad as suggesting that I send it to India. My regular sub-contractors in both The Bay Area and Portland, Oregon would probably vouch to this. However, as everyone working around me at Precision Money has to agree, I pumped out piles of code myself. Mostly plucking through nasty GeoDesic code and half-complete work from previously "fired" employees. Often with Fahmi Slail sitting behind me.

I encourage readers of this posting to compare the quality of my work (examples viewable in my portfolio) to that of the examples of work created by Precision Money (precisionmoney.com). That is if you can find any. Unlike Fahmi Slail, I am not interested in writing fake customer testimonials but, if you contact me, I'd be more than happy to point you to a couple of my extremely content customers.

I would also like to point out that searching for "Fahmi Slail" in Google will probably bring up this page instead of any of his. Why? Oh, simply because I'm a far better developer than anyone at Precision Money every was and probably will be.
